Last week, Mom and Dad brought us a waffle iron. Not just any waffle iron, but the avocado green waffle iron of my childhood…remember the 70′s? One week…it seems so very much longer since Grandma fell and broke her leg. For the past several days, I’ve practically lived at the hospital. Days filled with CAT scans, xrays, consultations, blood tests and finally surgery. The surgery was a great success: a procedure normally scheduled for 2 -3 hours was accomplished in less [...]

…they’ll be quite pleased to discover the sweet little house that Daddy, Charlotte and Emily built this afternoon. Almost immediately after Mass, I was stricken by an absolutely horrid migraine. The combination of sleep deprivation, fatigue and heat pretty much guaranteed an afternoon of medication and rest. Our dear friend, Hilaire, took the boys to [...]

How will you celebrate? Last night, my dear husband took the children and a couple family friends to the annual Red, White and Boom celebration in downtown Columbus. Despite the early rain, the evening’s festivities went off without a hitch. Grandma and I stayed home, ate homemade soup, visited with a dear friend and watched [...]

I am a traditional Catholic homeschooling mother of 9 children, married for 30 years to the most patient and sainted man. As converts to Catholicism in 1991, our family has only recently discovered the beauty and full expression of our beliefs in the timeless liturgy of antiquity, the Extraordinary Form also commonly referred to as the Traditional Latin Mass. An avid knitter, I also enjoy gardening, reading and immersing myself in the everyday graces of my vocation.
