We brought them with us!!
As we prepared to leave Monday afternoon, the children remembered the six Monarch cocoons in the jar on top of the refrigerator.
“We can’t leave them!” was the universal chorus. Nestled at my feet for the four hour drive, our six little friends arrived safe and sound at Grandma’s.
And then we forgot them. Until this morning…
Two beautiful butterflies, stretching their wings have now made a home on the Butterfly Bush in Grandma’s backyard. We’re anxiously watching for the rest to emerge…we’ll keep you posted!
Here’s a slideshow of our new friends:

I am a traditional Catholic homeschooling mother of 9 children, married for 27 years to the most patient and sainted man. As converts to Catholicism in 1991, our family has only recently discovered the beauty and full expression of our beliefs in the timeless liturgy of antiquity, the Extraordinary Form also commonly referred to as the Traditional Latin Mass. An avid knitter, I also enjoy gardening, reading and immersing myself in the everyday graces of my vocation.

Wow! Those are gorgeous butterflies! So you not only brought your family for a nice visit with Grandmother, you brought her butterflies!
Thank you for sharing the photos. I forgot about the butterflies until I saw this post. So beautiful!!
Almost forgot to tell you (or maybe I did?)…I have a new job, also! I’m working at a small company as their in-house graphic designer/writer/podcasting & vidblogging Gal Friday! It is a perfect job for many reasons. I am so thankful to God and the prayers of Mother Mary, St. Joseph, and St. Anthony.
Now I get to have a crash-course in Apple and iLife and iWork this weekend through some self-taught tutorials from a resource book. Hooyah!
