Imagine my surprise when my dear husband took off early to join us in our St. Patrick’s Day celebration!
It was a perfect day…and these pictures are worth more than a thousand words…
***UPDATE***This just in! Cutest pictures EVER of my grandson, Benjamin:

Now…how cute is he? I know…
St. Patrick’s Day Blessings,

I am a traditional Catholic homeschooling mother of 9 children, married for 30 years to the most patient and sainted man. As converts to Catholicism in 1991, our family has only recently discovered the beauty and full expression of our beliefs in the timeless liturgy of antiquity, the Extraordinary Form also commonly referred to as the Traditional Latin Mass. An avid knitter, I also enjoy gardening, reading and immersing myself in the everyday graces of my vocation.

He is incredibly cute! What a dear family you have.
I am a wee envious of the creek and all the cool nature that comes out of it. What a magical adventure land you have.
Oh, Kimberly, those pictures were just so wonderful! It is so neat to be able to watch all the fun you and your family have.
That Irish Beef looks YUMMY! As do the cookies, and the eggs in a nest. We’re about to go eat our Corned Beef and Cabbage.
Many blessings to you and yours,
~Kathy
Great pics — it was a gorgeous day, wasn’t it?
It was an amazing day!
And that Irish Beef Stew? Incredible…the kids loved it!
Wonderful photos. It was a beautiful day here also. So beautiful a skunk came out of hibernation and was hit somewhere near here. You can smell him on the wind. He should have seen it wasn’t safe to come out, as we still have 2-3 feet of snow in the fields.
It’s still a snow trench to get to the greenhouse where we dry our clothes during the winter and the snowbank along the side of the road are still a good 4-5 feet high.
The river behind the house is still very well frozen and the tides have only casued a current break/ hole down by the big bridge but the ice won’t be out before mid-late April.
We still have the Saints Storm to look forward to. We can count on a major snow storm for either one of the following feast. St Patrick, St Joseph or St Benedict. Most of the time it’s on St Joseph. We can get snow up to May, which people gather and have blessed. The Tradition behind this evade me, at the moment.
However, the sun as turned and the snow should start to melt down -the slower the better to lessen flooding. They are predicting a bad flood year again this year. Thank goodness I don’t mind the winter but I am looking forward to not having to wear winter jackets and boots.
Sorry for the long thread but now aren’t you even more grateful for the beautiful day you had. I’m so happy for you all. Wishing you many more beautiful days like today.
I think I’ll make some Irish Soda Bread on Friday
There’s something queer about catching the year’s first snake on St. Patrick’s Day
Can you share the recipes for the Irish Soda Bread and the Irish Beef Stew? My family says that both look very good and would love to try them. Thanks!
Blessings,
~Kathy
