Mmmm…
Who knew that such a light and airy creation, could hold so much pleasure?

My first attempt at popovers, a real hit with the family.
Charlotte and I are both under the weather (yes…me, again. Not sure what’s up with this…swollen glands, left side this time, Charlotte experienced such dizziness today that she fell out of a chair and seriously scratched herself from chin to collarbone…prayers, please?) A drippy sky outside and drooping spirits inside the house, we all needed a “lift.” Confined to the couch, I watched two episodes of America’s Test Kitchen and saw a segment on making the perfect popover…Charlotte said, “could you, mommy?”
I did. The tips and trick worked like a charm and the popovers were pronounced “most excellent…”
Looks like Saturday just might become “popover day…”
Blessings,

I am a traditional Catholic homeschooling mother of 9 children, married for 30 years to the most patient and sainted man. As converts to Catholicism in 1991, our family has only recently discovered the beauty and full expression of our beliefs in the timeless liturgy of antiquity, the Extraordinary Form also commonly referred to as the Traditional Latin Mass. An avid knitter, I also enjoy gardening, reading and immersing myself in the everyday graces of my vocation.

And a recipe??
I have had a cold for a week now and there have been several times I’ve had to catch myself before I hit the floor. Praying Clementine feels better soon. This one is taking a long time to go away for me and Peach.
Prayers for you, dear Barb…and your sweet Peach.
The recipe can be found at the link for America’s Test Kitchen…drawback: you have to sign up for a free membership…but I do sooo love Cook’s Country Illustrated! It’s worth it…
are popovers the new monkey bread?! thank you for the prayers, barbara!
I hope you are both feeling better very soon. I am a firm believer that fresh, hot bread of any kind always helps!! The popovers look delicious!
